Tips for Drafting The Perfect Web Design

Considering many of us spend a substantial chunk of our day online, it is very wise for companies to invest in a great website that attracts the potential and existing customers. Many of us as customers make decisions on the purchase based on our online experience of the website. Since the markets are becoming competitive every day, companies are engaging in a never ending customer-grabbing-leap-frog-race. Simply put, a website is an online business forum for companies. People residing around the globe are more likely to visit your website than witnessing the actual physical location of your business.

So what are the characteristics of a good website? Although companies can approach professional web development services, it is possible to do it on their own. Let’s learn how we can improve the design of our website.

1. Plan well!

Before designing your website, keep in mind the aims of the business. Since your goal is to reach potential customers, it is best to direct your website in that manner. Plan the journey experience of a user accessing your website for the first time and eventually becoming your customer. It is essential to have a captivating logo that best represents your company. Remember to keep it simple yet catchy, keeping the different kinds of users in consideration.

2. Navigation

Take a trip down the memory lane and remind yourself of an experience of entering a mall or supermarket where you couldn’t locate items, got lost occasionally and felt totally out of place. We all know how miserable can that be. Your website may be great in every aspect, but it loses its essence if it is tough to navigate. The users are not out there to play another maze race; make sure you keep your website easy to navigate.

3. Declutter

Clutter and chaos go hand in hand and the world has enough of it. Why would you let your customers be victim of it? Escape the phobia of white space and don’t make the mistake of cluttering your website with unnecessary items. Users won’t be interested in flashy images and extra reading material. Readers online mostly have an extremely less attention span. Make their life less complicated and upload items that only direct the users to the desired content of the website.

4. Images and Fonts

Who doesn’t like keeping it fancy? However, there is a fine balance in doing and overdoing. As a web developer, you must learn to appreciate it. Ensure that your font enhances user’s readability. To do so, it is safest to stick to fonts that are used the most, even if that doesn’t allow you to be unique. When opting for a font size, keep in consideration that valued users are accessing the web page through various sources; tablets, laptops, desktops, smart phones. Choose your font size sensibly. The use of appropriate images is also a skill that needs to be recognized. This would help you design an excellent website!
